Yoryis Regginos

Yoryis Regginos holds an MBA with a focus on Human Resources from the University of Stirling.

His career begun half a step beside the prime minister of Madagascar when he was appointed as a liaison officer by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a liaison officer for an international conference held in Cyprus in 1992, at the tender age of 19. Later on, he was the first face visitors saw when they arrived on the island, while he worked as an airport representative for a major tourist company. This gave him a first-hand experience in problem-solving while keeping a smiling face. And that was just the beginning.

After 12 years in the tourism industry, Yoryis completed full circle when he was undertook the post of managing director at one of the top-ten tourism companies in Cyprus. If he wasn’t passionate about travelling before, he sure became enamored with flying by the time he sold the company and moved on to business consulting.

In his spare time, Yoryis likes to volunteer, so in 1989 he was part of the New Year celebrations for the state channel in Cyprus. That was his first taste of television production, but certainly not the last: in 2008 his was the liaison officer for the Bulgarian delegation during the Junior Eurovision Song Contest that was held in Cyprus that year. This gave him a deeper look into the workings of an internationally televised event, with millions of spectators.

Since Yoryis loves to learn, his love of theatre and his passion about issues regarding gender and sexuality, got him invited to many television appearances in 2010 and onwards: from prime-time shows to morning informative panels to afternoon talk shows. This added to his knowledge about the local television market and the rules and regulations that surround it.

He speaks English, Greek and Bulgarian fluently, along with some Russian, French and Spanish for good measure. And that’s not to mention body language and social skills that are necessary in the culturally-diverse world that we live in. His greatest passion is trouble-resolution, which is a never-ending process, since the parameters are always changing and evolving.

Perhaps this last passion is what landed him on the position of Chief Troublemaker for Blue Cow Studios, an independent production company that aims to bring more quality, more imagination, more creativity and more innovations. Coupled with the positive energy and the craziness factor that Yoryis can add to the mix, the results will be anything but boring.
